1.- Dogecoin
Probably the trendiest cryptocurrency as we write this article. Dogecoin is an open-source peer-to-peer currency favoured by Shiba Inus worldwide. The mascot of this coin is not a regular dog but if not a real Japanese Shiba Inu named Kabosu.
It became popular in 2013 and it’s the most successful meme-themed altcoin. What started as a joke tweet by creator Jackson Palmer soon became a currency with a market value that has soared to around $60 million.
2.- Shiba Inu
Shiba Inu not only features the same breed of meme dog as Dogecoin but also appears to be working along the same lines of using a running joke as a way to enter the crowded market.
The self-proclaimed “Dogecoin Killer” is on the rise at the expense of its rival; launched under the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain’s ERC-20 standard, it can remain well under a penny and still outpace Dogecoin in a small amount of time. One Shiba Inu coin is currently worth $0.00001896, and has grown 1,051.16% over seven days.
3.- Akita
Another token based on Ethereum’s blockchain is Akita, inspired by Elon Musk and Dogecoin. This other meme-themed cryptocurrency is very similar to Shiba Inu but with a much smaller market cap than the previously mentioned. Akita Inu has only 1/10th of the maximum supply of Shiba Inu, making it significantly more scarce.
Some speculators are buying Akita Inu tokens hoping that they will soon make high returns; however, there can only be so much room in the market for furry-themed cryptocurrencies.
4.- Hokkaido Inu (HOKK)
Its symbol is a HOKK and it’s also known as Dogecoin’s little brother or Shiba’s first cousin, Hokkaido Inu is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency with built-in Automated Rewards Farming technology which means that you just need to hold HOKK in your wallet and watch your balance grow.
